Los Rios Golf Club in Plano is where the great traditions of golf are blended with the wonders of modern country club living. The golf course at Los Rios has an outstanding history in the Dallas area having been designed in 1974 by Texas golf legend Don January. The traditional layout spreads over 220 acres and features tree-lined fairways and generous sized Bermuda greens. The natural terrain for this 6,507 yard, par-71 course is studded with Live Oak trees and etched by the waters of a meandering creek that comes into play on 14 of 18 holes. Eight glistening ponds are found throughout the course, adding an additional test for golfers. The trees narrow the fairways providing you with an unforgettable round that challenges your skills.
PREMIER JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY DETAILS
A year round program designed for boys and girls ages 7-16. Open to beginner golfers with no prior knowledge of the game, or intermediate to advanced golfers who want to improve their game. Each month the student registers for eight (8) 45 minute lessons (2 per week) based on their level and the program calendar. Cost is $165.00 per month for levels 1-4.
Classes are organized into seven skill levels and taught by an experienced PGA/USGTF certified golf professional. All students start at level (1) and advance to the next level only by passing a challenge test to assess their mastery of that particular level. Intermediate and advanced students may bypass lower levels by passing the level’s skills challenge. Students also receive a “character counts” lesson during each session focusing on trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
MEET OUR LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Simon Fagan is a full time instructor and has taught students of all ages and all skill levels from beginner to professional. His students improve fundamentally as well as learn to self correct and understand their own swing tendencies and ball flight. Simon was taught the game at an early age by Joe Fagan, former Texas A&M Golf coach to the 1956 Southwest Conference Championship winning team. Simon relocated from Austin to Mckinney and was the Lead Instructor of Hank Haney Golf Academy at Westridge from 2006 until 2010. He was in charge of running the junior camps with over 200 ‘campers’ a year and an ongoing jr development program. Simon joined the Premier Junior Golf team in 2013 and is passionate about growing the game by bringing his knowledge to the next generation of golfers.
